A Spending Fast: do you need someone to hold your hand?

On this site and in my ebook The Temporary Tightwad, I’ve spoken a lot about the power of a spending fast to change your finances forever.

I even chronicled my no-spend challenge last summer here. I’ve done 3 such spending fasts in my life. The first helped me get out of debt, the second helped my husband get out of debt, and the third boosted our efforts to save for a sizable down payment on our home.

I follow a lot of personal finance bloggers, and one of my favorites is Anna of AndThenWeSaved.com. Anna wrote a book I read and loved (and reviewed here). And she recently launched a Spending Fast Boot Camp that I’m excited to tell you about!

Spending Fast Boot Camp

Doing a spending fast is not easy. It’s emotionally exhausting at times and uses up a lot of brain space.

I think it’s brilliant that she’s put together an accountability group that will basically hold your hand, keep you pumped when you’re tired and sick of it (or feeling sorry for yourself and reaching for your favorite retail therapy hit).

I’ve just begun going through the materials there and it’s written in Anna’s usual down-to-earth and witty style.

Would something like this help you improve your finances?

As I’ve mentioned, sometimes you have to do something drastic but temporary to change things forever. It takes creating some escape velocity.

Go here to check out what Anna’s put together. And I’ll see you on the inside!

P.S. If you decide to sign up, shoot me an email or comment below and I’ll send you a copy of any of my ebooks free!
