I got $25 cash back on my CapitalOne QuickSilver card statement.
I still can’t get over the fact that credit card companies now pay me to use their product. Once I got out of debt and changed my habits and money mindset, I began leveraging credit cards for the rewards and love it.
It’s key that I pay the entire balance before I incur any interest. If you do that, credit card hacking is fun and profitable.

I started an Instagram highlight named CheapEats to post my #avoidfoodwaste and #leftoverwizardry tips, and to hold myself accountable. Follow me if you like that sort of thing!
It seems to be helping. Last week I only threw away one thing: a pineapple. It went from unripe to moldy overnight. Oops!

Instead of buying an office chair for my desk, I nabbed an inexpensive cover on Amazon. It fits perfectly and looks good. Plus, I can remove it easily and wash it. I inherited my daughter’s old chair when I got her a new one at a local thrift store. There was nothing wrong with the chair, except the cover had gotten destroyed from use.
I threw a small blanket my daughter crocheted in her crafty era on top. (I knew it would come in handy eventually!)
Sometimes, my cat even allows me to sit here.
My entire office setup cost <$35. The desk was $20 on Facebook Marketplace, the monitor (I attach my laptop to it for better ergonomics) free from a friend who works at a recycling center.
The box it’s sitting on, I got it several years ago from IKEA for around .99. I stash office supplies in there that I rarely need, keeping them out of sight. I dislike clutter, and the desk has no drawers, so this works. The red standing magazine holder on the floor holds important documents and hides the cords.

I picked up a free bouquet of flowers, a reward for being part of the Club Publix loyalty program (Ha! I’m loyal to ALDI).
Note: I never shop at Publix, they’re much too expensive for my taste. But periodically they send me a $5 off coupon that has no minimum purchase requirement, and I usually spend it on something from the clearance rack. Last time, it was two bottles of micellar water for $3 (70% off) that my daughters use for makeup remover.

I used inter-library loan to reserve a book my local library didn’t have. I took two loads of clothing to the consignment shop for credit. I love shopping for “free”, opting out of fast fashion, and supporting small local businesses.
