A couple of things I enjoyed this week:
- Frugal doesn’t mean cheap from AndThenWeSaved – I believe it was the authors of Your Money or Your Life who encourage people to keep a spending diary and after reviewing it, ask: “Did my spending align with my values?” – This is a powerful exercise. If we say we value something, that should show up in our spending and habits. (This is why it’s ok for me to spend $6 on Earthpaste but water down my shampoo.)
- Last week I read Presence by Amy Cuddy, who gave one of the most popular TED talks of all time. If you want to know what it means to Starfish up, read it. Fascinating back story and really interesting stuff you can immediately apply in your life.
- Disappointed to see this overpriced product on the Dave Ramsey website (seriously guys?). You can make your envelope clip system for budgeting for pennies, or free, since you probably already have these clips hanging around the house.
- Quote I’ve never seen before but is now a favorite: “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” – Albert Einstein. This is SO ME.
- If you have littles, save this 4-word answer to common toddler problems cheat sheet from author Elizabeth Pantley. Love these!
Favorite pic of the week:
Man, this math stuff is hard.
Enjoy your weekend!
