Posting “5 frugal things” helps me stay accountable and hopefully provides a little tightwad inspiration.
When I went to Aldi to get groceries, they had a shopping cart full of kid’s stuff for 50% off. I got several packs of socks, undies and a cute pair of little girl ballet flats for $2.50 each.
Frugality involves thinking ahead. I also got Josiah, not yet potty trained, a pack of Star Wars themed briefs.
We took the kids to the dollar movie to see The BFG. We are huge Dahl fans around here. It was delightful.
I desperately needed a new black skirt so I logged on to ThredUp and got two, including one that is identical (but a size smaller) to a skirt I loved but had to give to the consignment shop because it was too big. My daughters have outgrown/worn out their swimsuits so I got them each another for our upcoming beach vacation, also from ThredUp.
When I took my son to the podiatrist for a procedure, they tried to sell me a kit of supplies he would need to use caring for his foot. Cost: $25. I declined, went to Walmart and got everything on the list for $12.
I have two earring holes in each lobe, but hadn’t worn earrings in the second hole in years, so the holes had mostly grown in. Today, however, I felt that I needed a second earring to complement my rather simple outfit (and with short hair, I think more earrings are necessary).
So, I did some labor breathing and poked the earring on through.
Felt rather hard-core after that.
The picture above is more proof that kids don’t need many toys. A kid tent/fort is another thing you can make instead of buy.
More five frugal things/recent frugal accomplishments.

Great deals! We love ALDI.
I actually have three holes in the bottom of each ear (and one has two in the cartilage). I’ve been thinking about shoving an earring through the bottom ones again…but haven’t committed.
