Skinny Coconut Oil Review

It’s rare that I do product reviews here, but occasionally I find something that impresses me and wish to pass it along, so I’m writing a quick Skinny Coconut Oil review. Skinny & Co sent me a sample box of their best-selling products. And I’m falling in love with using coconut oil for much of my skin and oral health care again!

Skinny Coconut Oil is a made in small batches, is extra virgin, cold pressed coconut oil, made with nothing but 100% pure, raw, pesticide free coconuts. They don’t even heat their oils in processing, and the finished product is alkaline, which is important especially for products used in the mouth.
Of course, you can easily buy coconut oil just about anywhere these days, but there are a few things I appreciate about this company’s approach and product line.

Skinny Coconut Oil Review

For starters, the jars I received are all a tiny bit different. There is one jar of just straight-up coconut oil for general use or cooking, but the others have a bit of extra ingredients added for more benefits.

For example, the Oil Pulling jar contains peppermint. (I wrote about oil pulling here and the benefits I’ve noticed, and when I got this jar it reminded me to begin oil pulling again!) How genius to add a bit of pleasant flavor to a product for oral health.

The Facial Oil includes a bit of lavender, Roman chamomile and Holy Basil in addition to coconut oil. I’ve been using this to remove makeup (it melts eye makeup off wonderfully) and to moisturize my face and it’s wonderful.

The Sugar Scrub has only coconut oil, coconut sugar and vanilla bean. In a pinch, you can use it to sweeten your coffee! And it smells like heaven.

The Whipped Body Butter also has almond oil and Vitamin E, which is lovely because I’ve noticed that coconut oil alone isn’t moisturizing enough for my body, especially in cooler months.

Skinny Coconut Oil Review

One thing I love about coconut oil is how versatile it is. I don’t like a lot of products cluttering up my bathroom. On my recent vacation, I took a small jar of Skinny & Co coconut oil and used it for a facial cleanser, moisturizer for my face and body, after-sun soother, for shaving and for oil pulling. You can also use it for styling or conditioning your hair, as a beard oil and for baby’s skin.

In addition, I find that a little coconut oil goes a long way, making it more cost-effective than other natural skin care products.

I love coconut oil too! We pop our popcorn in it, and I use it when I make granola. Love the lip balms I have that are made with coconut oil too.

As long as you get the sort that doesn’t smell strongly of coconut, it’s great for massage. And more. 😉
