Every day this month, I’m writing about reading aloud to your kids. To see the entire list of posts, go here.
Have you heard about the Little Free Library?
We have one about a mile from our house. It’s on a street we travel to get to a favorite park. When we spotted it, hubby lurched the car to a stop.
We all piled out to investigate.
Little free libraries are just what they sound like – they’re a tiny collection of books available freely to borrow. No library card necessary. And if you like, you can donate a book or two.
If the idea intrigues you and you’re handy with a hammer, you can even build your own Little Free Library by following instructions on the website.
We get a little thrill every time we pass by the little free library. It makes me think of the post office that Mr. Laurence built in Little Women, and how the March girls felt about it.
Some new treasure to find every time you visit.
You can find a Little Free Library near you by searching the map.
