A few things that moved me this week on the net…

Thordis Elva and Tom Stranger: Our story of rape and reconciliation – Beautiful teenage Thordis is raped by Tom, her handsome Australian exchange student date. It takes them 9 years to begin healing. What they discovered is that the rape had ruined both their lives up to that point. This story gives one hope about humanity. Forgiveness and redemption for the deserving. I am so enamored with these two for their bravery.

How interesting! TED talk: How to Have an Intentional Life, by Ryder Carroll, inventor of the Bullet Journal (and hero to many). Surprise! Ryder had ADD and invented the system to help himself. In this talk, he mentions decision fatigue, a pet topic of mine.

A few bloggy things. I was overwhelmed by the response to the 100 Free Top Blogging Tips. I decided to create a monthly newsletter just to talk about blogging for those interested. I dislike it when a lifestyle blogger starts telling everyone about blogging (as if they were interested, most aren’t – when you walk into a restaurant, do you want them to invite you back into the kitchen and tell you how to open a restaurant? I didn’t think so…).

So, to help those who ARE interested in the topic, there’s a little sign up box on that page now. I’ll only send out an email once a month, maybe less. It will include things such as: what I’m learning and reading about blogging, what’s working for me in terms of traffic generation and such, and notes from blogging conferences and webinars I participate in. Go there to sign up if you’re into it.

14 years ago yesterday, after 10 hours of labor that I thought would surely kill me, this little rose came into my life.

(One hour for each pound, hence the pain.)

She’s a beautiful dancer, a budding photographer and lover of books, decorating, fashion, design, and God. Not in that order.

I searched everywhere for her birth story, which used to be published on an old website I owned, but couldn’t locate it. That’s ok. I remember the story.

Oldies but Goodies: 4 ways to get out of a bad mood quickly  and frugal homeschooling (a tome!)
