What’s In Your Purse? (& Friday flâner)

What’s in your purse? Scroll down to see what’s in mine.
When I was little, I sometimes would spend the night with my paternal grandmother. A highlight of the trip was when she let me go through her purse. It felt so secret and grown-up.

I think women keep that “what’s in her purse” curiosity into adulthood. It’s why we love those Instagram flat lays.

Looking into a woman’s purse is a peek into her inner world.

Here’s what’s in my purse…

My Bullet Journal – of course! It’s the “official” Leuchtturm1917 and I love it.

Favorite pens: Muji gel ink ball point pen 0.38 | Pentel Slicci 0.25 | Sakura Pigma Micron 0.25 (thanks for the recommendations!)

In a small makeup bag: Smith’s Rosebud Salve for my poor, torn cuticles and dry lips. Powder/mirror compact. Two lipsticks: L’oreal Colour Riche in Faithful and e.l.f. in Ravishing Rose.

Grove Bergamot Orange hand cream and Blood Orange sanitizing gel (this is the only brand I’ll use), both were sent to me free for being a good customer.

Palladio rice paper tissues, looking a little ragged since I only use those in summer. (Not shown) Xylitol gum. I buy this stuff in bulk in my Amazon Subscribe & Save order each month.

Leather gloves. Wallet containing various debit and credit cards (paid in full every month but not before rewards accrue!) and my preeciouuus… library card.

Vigilant personal alarm (and two other self-defense items not pictured).

A few stevia packets. I don’t eat sugar, yo. Sometimes if I’m at a restaurant, I mix those in water and add a lemon slice.

Not pictured: a diaper. I have always been a diaper bag minimalist and rarely carried more than a couple of wipes in a zipper bag and a couple of diapers. The wipes and extra diapers are in the car.

Full disclosure: I did remove a stray napkin, 3 errant crayons and a lost spoon before snapping the pic, but other than that did no editing. 🙂

Bloggy friend Picky Pinchers shares what’s in her purse here. Sarah at MyNaturalBabyBirth and Anne at Modern Mrs. Darcy played along too.

What’s in your purse, and what do you think those items say about you?

A few things I enjoyed from around the web this week:

Rodeo University, circa 1947 – complete eye candy. I love the Rockabilly look. Those bangs! The red lips! Sorry young people today, but y’all don’t look nearly this cool. Ask Grandma how to pull it off maybe?

Whether you do THM or not, you might still enjoy this list of TrimHealthyMama popcorn recipes. My favorite so far? Dorito popcorn. Seriously. It’s yumm-o, with none of the processed junk.

I’m over at Blissful Intent writing about The Life-Changing Magic of Good Habits

Blasts from the Past:

Yesterday was my preemie’s official due date (he would have been 2 if he had been born on that day, but instead he was born 3 months early, at 27 weeks). If you haven’t read his story, it’s here.

The truth about low maintenance (hint: it’s often code for “I’m not worth it”)

Parenting “lasts” – why do the firsts get all the attention?
