Our favorite way to use coconut oil would be in place of diaper creams with our cloth diapers. My youngest has SUPER sensitive skin and being in a diaper more than 2 hours does a number on his bottom. Little dab of coconut oil and it’s all better 🙂

We use coconut oil as a moisturerizer for the whole family! The kids love it after their baths and it makes snuggling before be a treat!!!Our son has had eczema and has cleared it up comepletely!

I learned the benefits of cooking with coconut oil from Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon, but had no idea it all of these other benefits, too! Thanks for sharing.

  6. I love to use coconut oil in baking. We make our own bread, waffles, pancakes and muffins and coconut oil is in all of them. We don’t fry many items but we did make french fries the other night and fried them in coconut oil and they were yummy! Besides reading about the benefits in Nourishing Traditions, I also read about them in “The Coconut Oil Miracle”.

  7. I use it in soapmaking, and its yummy melted on popcorn too.

  8. My husband & I have many uses for coconut oil.
`baking (the best is on toasted homemade wheat bread with honey and cinnamon….yum)
    `burn ointment
    `wound healer
    `body & facial moisturizer
    `oil pulling
    `hair conditioner
    `personal lubrication
    `massage oil
    `rash ointment
and the list goes on and on!

  9. I haven’t ever used coconut oil, but after hearing about it I am so hoping to win! I want to try it on my hair, my homemade bread, my dry lips (I’ve been using jojoba oil), and as a massage oil!

  10. Melissa Miller says:

I have not tried this yet. I would love to try it as it seems there are many used for it. Thanks for the great information.

  11. I use it as a moisturizing hair mask, I put a good amount on my hair then I put it up with a clip or hair tie and put the hair dryer on it for 5 minutes and then wash my hair as usual, it works great to calm down the frizzy ends of my hair.

  12. I love coconut primarily for cooking (coconut curry, anyone?) but also for skin and hair care. My almost 3 yr old daughter goes nuts when she sees me pull out the coconut oil from the fridge because she loves to eat it straight. 🙂

    Thanks for another great giveaway!

  13. Among my many uses for coconut oil, I use it in my massage therapy practice. I’ve found it especially helpful for my clients with psoriasis and sensitive skin. It’s also wonderful in the winter, since just about everyone I work on has dry skin in need of some intensive moisturization. I also use it personally as a skin moisturizer, as an acne treatment, and I consume it for enhanced cellular metabolism and overall great health!

  14. I love it as a hair conditioner and skin moisturizer. I haven’t really cooked with it, but would love to!

  15. Love it! We use coconut oil in curries, for making popcorn, really in place of using extra virgin olive oil in any food dishes to give a bit of a different flavour. We use a variety of health oils in our home every day. I have not used it yet as a moisturizer, but I do know of these characteristics that I learned during yoga teacher training! We also eat creamed coconut – sooooooo delicious! You can buy it at most grocery stores in the imported food (Indian) section for less than $2 a box:) Our 20mth old son loves it too!

  16. Coconut oil is one of my favorite oils for my soapmaking. I also have used it in my deodorant. My 16 yo dd uses it on her hands when they get chapped from doing the dishes. In fact, just the other day, she came to me and said, “Mom, I need you to make up some more of this for my hands.” When I saw what she was talking about, I laughed and told her that it was “just coconut oil” and that it didn’t need to be “made up.”

  17. I’m addicted to using it in my homemade lip balms for me and the kids!

  18. I’ve not really tried coconut oil, because I bought into the belief that it is bad for you, but I’ll be going out to buy some today. Great information in this podcast. I can’t wait to try coconut oil and see how it improves my family’s health.

  19. I love coconut oil. What can’t you use it for. I use it for pie crusts, and on my hands, lips, and on my children.

  20. Nicole Tulone says:

I used coconut oil for my daughter’s dandruff problem and orally for a yeast infection. – Love it.

  21. I have used coconut oil for eczema. I kept thinking I would use it as a suppliment. I have tried a couple of different brands and would love to win this one and try it! I am amazed at all the different uses. I knew there were a few, but…WOW!

  22. Our household uses coconut for all of the above. Our favorite is an evening snack of Coconut Fudge.

  23. Jackie King says:

My favorite ways recently to add coconut oil in to my diet was to make “chocolate” and another raw treat called “halvah” balls.

The chocolate is coconut oil with carob powder and stevia. Blend it up in the blender and then pour it into a 9X13 pan and freeze it. Break it apart and store it in the freezer.

The halvah balls are ground sesame seeds, raw honey, bee pollen, cinnamon, and of course the coconut oil. We mix this up and roll them into balls and freeze them. Once they are frozen, we put them in a ziplock and store in the freezer. They are kind of “nougety”.

  24. Mrs. Bennet says:

I haven’t tried many of the uses for coconut oil. It does make banana bread taste yummy when used for shortening in the recipe. My kids said it was the best banana bread ever! Mrs. B.

I have been using coconut oil (butter) for a couple of years to replace butters and oils in cooking. Then I was dealing with exzema on my face and neck. I went to 3 dermatologist who each gave me a variety of internal and external prescriptions. Some very costly and dangerous with short term use only. None of which worked. Then I read one of your blogs about using the coconut oil for exzema and tried it. WOW, I have not had a problem with it since. It has been almost a year now exzema free. I love the coconut manna that I most recently bought.. It is yummy just as a treat! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
